yawns and boomsDamn sian studying through the middle of the night. Yet I am still so alive and kicking at night. Watchedd this serial drama called 雾锁南洋. Damn old film lah, like early 1980s I think. My parents watched the show in China before, but I haven’t. It’s damn nice lah, showing how our forefathers fought and strived to make this place a better one for you and me. The Chinese saying goes, 前人种树,后人乘凉, meaning our forefathers planted the trees while we took shade under these trees. Therre 4 parts to the entire show. The first two parts were about Singaporean history before and during the Japanese occupation, while the latter two are about our strive for independence and the challenges we faced. It was rumored that the latter two were filmed because the government told them to, in view of the 25th National Day. Who knows. Then the theme song also damn nice. Today is a hazy day anyway, so these lyrics fits:
